-
- By following the German standard I can please the _vast_majority_ of users
- and developers for the Atari. Let me remind you that my proposal suggests
- a compromise which is intuitive (^Tab for cycling etc.). And I have thrown
- out the German CTRL+M. Atari have done more damage with their guide lines.
- They came too late when the standards de-facto have long been established.
-
- In the UK there are no programs of any significance coming from non-German
- sources with the exception of Neodesk, STraight Fax and possibly STalker.
- Almost all new programs come from Germany. This will be the same in the US
- very soon. The US market is already catching up with NVDI. Also note that
- Speedo is no longer in American hands, and Mag!X/MagiC is already winning
- the approval of the mags and users. I think you are out of touch with the
- current developments.

- Article about GEM clipboard - the only American apps that support it
- correctly are STraight FAX and Atari Works (not really American). All new
- German apps support the clipboard.
- Talk about non-modal dialogs. The German developers were first.

- Get the picture?

-
- You are right about the 2 levels creating problems. However, the appdefs
- file is currently only a proposal. Let's take it a step at a time.

- The Closer should not mean Cancel or Abort. I suggest you have a look at
- the Control Panel (by Atari:-) for a simple example, or Papyrus (demo is
- available) for a more serious example.
